SUSANNE CLIFT

Looking back at my 40 years in hairdressing, I remember my journey started when I was in 5th grade. Not only did I love 1970s updos, but I thought Twiggy's haircut was amazing. Having always put 100% into everything I do, I always reflect on the inspiration I received from my creative and hard-working parents.

My life has been filled with so many inspirational mentors. From my high school ceramic teacher to my internship at Edward Wadsworth, I knew it was important to surround myself with excellence. My official journey in my craft started in 1980, and I am still going strong in 2023.

Every decade, I experienced mentors who shaped my skill and excitement for hairdressing. From the late '80s through the '90s. Irvine and Louise Rusk of Rusk, changed my world. This creative duo took my hairdressing to a skill I never dreamed of. Their innovations, like texture scissors to cutting techniques, have had a profound impact on my work to this day. Howard and Raymond McLaren of Bumble & Bumble took my skill set to a new level. From Alpha blades to the humble razor, my mentors gave me the tools I still use to this day. Becoming a mentor, educator, and salon owner–it's been an inspiring journey.

Having had so many wonderful opportunities, I can only credit the support of my wonderful husband, Tim of over 40 years, and my mom. They always told me that I could do anything. Tim and my mom have inspired me to be my best at everything I do, including giving my clients 1%00 and making them feel special. The future looks amazing, and I am so excited to join the Salon Posey team.
